It is the first time in the history for the government of People’s Republic of China to announce the blockade of the city of Wuhan. From the news coverage from people.cn at GMT+8 02:09 AM, the Wuhan CDC Head Quarters announced the notice that, starting from GMT+8 10:00 AM on 23rd January, which is GMT-5 09:00 PM, all of the City of Wuhan’s bus, subway, ferry, and long-distance coaches are out of operation. Citizens of Wuhan are not to leave the city without special circumstances. Airports and rail are temporarily closed until further notice.
Many of the Wuhan people, who are still in their beds, shall find themselves prohibited to leave the city when they wake up, while those who are staying late will grasp their last chance to leave Wuhan before the order in effect.
ChunLan Sun, Vice Premier of the State Council of People’s Republic of China, arrived at Wuhan in the Hubei Province to get to know the situation of Wuhan, Wuhan’s government checked the people and cars in a nearly
blockade way, “not to let any single person or single car be exempted”. Wuhan government checked over 2.2 billion person-times yesterday, and found 45 people having fever, 8 of them advised to return and 6 people sent to hospital.
Wuhan local government enacted the “Urgent Mask Act”. All civilians are to wear mask in public areas, and the administrators of public areas should advise their customers to wear masks. Those not wearing mask as well as the business owners who did not advise the customers to do so will be prosecuted.
According to Chinese Government, there are 550 cases and 17 deaths in total 22 Province, and 6 cases overseas.-------------------------------------------------
