奧圖爾：加國應歡迎香港義士 O’Toole: Canada should welcome brave activists who fought against communism
保守黨國會議員兼黨魁候選人奧圖爾（Erin O’Toole）表示，見證了一個民主國度之死，並認為加拿大應該歡迎對於勇敢抗爭的反共義士。對此，國際組織香港監察（Hong Kong Watch）、本地組織新香港文化協會，以及流亡手足channel北美流亡手足頻道（非苦主）均對奧圖爾表示致謝。
Conservative leader candidate Erin O’Toole MP tweeted that “We are watching a democracy die before us. If any of the brave activists who have fought communism now choose to flee, we should welcome them in Canada. A battle is lost, but the fight for democracy is not. We will prevail.”
In respond to his solidarity with Hong Kong brave activists, international organization Hong Kong Watch, local group New Hong Kong Cultural Club, and an asylum seekers’ telegram channel “Activists who exile in North America (refuse to be victimized)” expressed their thank in social media.

奧圖爾一直都有為手足發聲，五月中他曾在Toronto Sun撰文呼籲加拿大人反共，文中提到要撐香港流亡手足。其後他亦有在臉書發帖，表示其計劃之一是爭取加拿大庇護香港手足。
O’Toole had continuously spoken for Hong Kong activists. In mid of May, he wrote an article in Toronto Sun that Canada must stand up to China, mentioned Hong Kong asylum seekers who fought against Chinese regime and urged Canadian government to support them. In later days in May, he Facebook posts mentioned that one of his plan is grant asylum to brave pro-democracy activists fleeing persecution in Hong Kong.
