港語一分鐘：擢

擢，讀音chuk。現在不少報紙都寫chuk，而無寫正字「擢」了。擢有快速提起之意，而非常用之來回搖動。例如古代公文中所指的「拔擢後進」，就是指幫後來者升官。拔是用力拔出來，可以雙手或單手。擢則是輕輕一下，快速提起，也有突然之意。

時人通常講人扮野係「擢樣」，或者在機舖「擢機」，等等都是用這個擢字。

The word 擢 pronounce as “Chuk”, which means pull up quickly. Shaking is an informal use of this word.
